History “Growing Up” was the main theme song of the movie which was heard in its opening and closing credits. This was always a promotional song during the rounds on the programs of the various television stations. “So It’s You” was its main love theme song particularly when the scenes about the celebration of Valentine’s Day was shown.

There was an MTV like scene which featured Raymond Lauchengco serenading Eula Valdez with this song. The two wore formal clothes and the location was the Ugarte Football Field in Makati with matching fireworks. “Baby I Lied” and “You and I” served as other love theme songs to the back stories of the characters played by Aga Muhlach and J.C. Bonnin, respectively. “Farewell” was the background song when the main characters encountered their separate heart aches and sadness because of the death of a lady love, a person he loves left for abroad for marriage and his love prospect can not return his affection because she is already married.

However, in the hearts and in the minds of the high school seniors graduating that year, this song was their graduation song. “Why Don’t You Care” was the musical score in the scene where Herbert Bautista, riding a bicycle, saw his romantic prospect played by Jobelle Salvador who was a passenger of a tricycle. This was a hilarious scene where even if the young lad learned where she lives, he found out that her father is a military man who he saw cleaning the latter’s M-16 rifle which was issued to him for official use.

The lyrics of “High School High” was about the various challenges a high school student experienced: difficult subjects to learn and to study and the several examinations to be taken to pass these subjects. This was the score when the main characters arrived at their new school during the first day of classes as high school seniors and exploring its surroundings and its people. “Telephone”, “Why Me?” and “Jump (For My Love)” were used as the background music in the Junior-Senior Prom scenes. “Just Got Lucky” was used when the main characters had their summer outing and towards the end of the movie when Bautista’s character told his love for Salvador’s character after a few funny distractions.

The young lady accepted his proposal to be his sweetheart which surprised the young man. “Rock It” was for the scene where the character of William Martinez accepted the challenge of a classmate for a drag racing without thinking of the consequence which he regretted later.

His sweetheart played by Yayo Aguila died in the car crash while he survived. “This Is A House” and “Self-Respect” were used in the other scenes where the characters were engaged in the different activities as teenagers. For the graduating high school seniors of the year 1984, the movie and the soundtrack served as souvenirs of their high school lives.

History
In 1995, rock band Advent Call, which had formed in the mid-'80s, released its debut album, Alterednatives, issued on the Neo Records label of independent Viva Music Group. The album yielded a major radio hit in the campy, rock-inflected reworking of a song popular decades ago in the Philippines, "Memories (Of Our Dreams)," then performed by crooner Eddie Peregrina. Advent Call's version of the song has its share of campy crooning as well, but also runs through several tempo and style changes, including quick, ska-like passages and even an instrumental paraphrase of the 1960s BatmanTV series theme. There are a variety of styles heard on the album, including the metal-sounding "Palakasan" (Whoever Is Strong); an instrumental, "Ang Theme," which features attractive, searing electric guitar played over tender acoustic picking; and the piano-based "Naghihintay" (Waiting), on which vocalist Basha sings emotively. Despite the diversity, there is nothing particularly special about these songs, and most of them are unable to hold a listener's attention for long.

There was a story on the web that when the band was singing Puting Ilaw live, there is a spotlight stalking the vocalist. The band drew mainstream status with the two songs. Puting Ilaw was an enchanting rock ballad while their Eddie Pelegrina cover was just a fun song to sway your hips at. The band has since returned to the spotlight with a female vocalist and an entirely different look and feel (the Henry guy is the only remaining original member of the band).

No other pop band comes close to Aegis when it comes to establishing that certain hook with audiences. From north to south, east to west, all over the Philippines and possibly, beyond, Aegis music connects with the largest number of audiences.
There is a feeling of oneness with Aegis among those who are touched by Aegis' songs. With all their high notes, bravura performances and tons of sentiments. Aegis' songs click because they pierce right into our hearts, awakening the Filipino innate sense of melodrama, drawing both empathy and sympathy. Making them a true expression of the Filipino spirit.
History
Aegis has released seven albums over its career that have consistently made the Gold and Platinum marks beginning with Halik, Mahal na Mahal Kita, Awit at Pag-Ibig, Paskong-Pasko and Ating Balikan. They also released a mind-boggling remix collection of Aegis' hits entitled Ating Sayawin. The band is also responsible for hits such as "Luha" and "Halik." Clearly, this is one band that has survived the rigors of the Philippine music industry with flying colors.

Since they started in 2000, this band which is actually made up of siblings had strong support from Filipino masses who quickly identified with them and the sound they created. One would not mistake an Aegis song. The band effectively brands a song through their guitar riffs and the belting voices of the vocalists.

The phenomenal success of Aegis band can be attributed to two factors- their genuine talent and the strong recall of their songs.Almost everyone in your neighborhood, be it young or old, I bet is familiar with songs like Halik or Luha. The earthshaking voices of Aegis' lead vocalists are just too mighty not to be noticed in a pop-rock arena.
The Aegis audiences are always mesmerized by the incredible lung-power of sisters Juliet and Mercy Sunot. The two have been with the group since they started originally as AG's Soundtrippers (the letters A and G being their manager's initials). They later changed into Aegis in 1998 as agreed upon by the band manager & Alpha Records. Apart from the two sisters, keyboardist Stella Galindo is also the sister of the band's manager Lito. While his (Lito's) wife, Josie, is Rey's sister. This 'connection' perhaps explains why their relationship has never been shaken despite the intrigues and politics in showbiz.
